Board of Directors

Board
Expanded Board Meeting Dec 8, 2007 in Hong Kong where several resource people were in attendance.

The The GlobalHort Consortium has a major challenge to deliver a message to policy makers, research leaders and politicians that appropriate and coordinated efforts are needed to ensure that future crop production in developing regions and food supply to their own markets as well as to overseas markets, such as the European market, are safe and secure, and that natural and human resources are efficiently managed. One requirement is to gather from the earlier stages all the stakeholders involved in horticulture for successful research for development, reason for a consensual Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors comprises 10 voting members: one representative from AVRDC - The World Vegetable Center, one from the International Society of Horticultural Science (ISHS), one from the Alliance of the CGIAR, one from Global  Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR), one from Advanced Research Institutes (ARI), one from the health and nutrition community (NEPAD), one from a donors’ representative (ICDF), one from the farmers' organizations (IFAP), one from the private sector which has not yet been filled and one from an international organization which has also not yet been filled.
